DIRECTORS AND TEAM
The TIC board has five directors, all professionals,
including two whole-time directors:
Kiron Kasbekar, managing director,
has worked in the publishing, database services and related
businesses for the past 28 years. A well-known writer
on business and management issues, his previous positions
include: Editor of The Economic Times, Bombay,
Business Editor of The Times of India, and Managing
Editor of Business India magazine - all of them
leaders in their segments.
Kiron also has over two decades of experience
in the business database business and in the managing
of business enterprises (including marketing and finance).
He has also been directly involved in media design and
art. His experience in software development goes back
to 1989.
Anjali Mathur, director and chief
operating officer, has been in senior positions in journalism,
including as Resident Editor of The Sunday Observer
and Executive Editor of Gentleman magazine. She
was a delegate to the Special Session on Women of the
United Nations General Assembly in 2000, and is a founder
member of the Network of Women in Media (India), an association
of women journalists from across the country.
Sushil Khanna, director, is a fellow
of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C),
and professor at IIM-C. He specialises in strategic management
issues and has done consulting for large corporations
besides teaching at IIM-C for over three decades, after
a stint at Citibank.
S. Viswanathan, director, is a chartered
accountant and MBA from the Indian Institute of Management,
Ahmedabad. He has worked with leading organizations, such
as Price Waterhouse, World Bank and with groups such as
TVS, RPG, Chandarias and Manipal Group, and with consulting
firms. He has over 25 years of experience in the areas
of corporate and strategic planning, and finance.
Team: The TIC team has 45 people
employed full-time. The team has writers and editors,
designers, managers and software engineers in four cities
in India. In addition, TIC has a network of external writers
and editors in these four cities and in several others.
The backgrounds of TICs team members
include work with publications and companies such as Business
India, Business World, The Times of India,
India Today, Navhind Times, United News
of India, Commerce Research Bureau, Intel, Raymond, Gharda
Chemicals, the National Insurance Company, and the National
Film Development Corporation.
Some of TICs software engineers and
designers have also been involved with teaching and training
in their respective areas.
